The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has threatened a nationwide strike if the federal government fails to remit the salaries of its members by the end of October 2019. Ade Adejumo, ASUU coordinator, Ibadan zone, also reiterated the union’s rejection of the Integrated Payment Personnel Information System (IPPIS) allegedly being forced on its members by the federal government. President Muhammadu Buhari had issued a directive for the implementation of the IPPIS to manage the payment of salaries of all federal government workers, while mandating that anyone not registered on the platform will not be paid as from October 31. Speaking with journalists on Sunday, Adejumo accused the government of designing the platform to suppress the masses in the guise of fighting corruption and insisted that the union would go by the matra ‘no pay, no work’ if the issues are not addressed. According to a report by Vanguard’s Allure, there are strong indications that Pastor Anita has found love again and remarried. Anita sparked up marriage rumors recently after she introduced ‘Schafer’ to her maiden name. She authored her latest article ‘A Simple Prayer’ with the name Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer, on her website at www.pastoranita.org. Also, an article seemingly confirmed she had remarried, as one of the approved comments said, “Congratulations Pastor Anita for your new name.” Two other comments – “Congratulations Pastor Anita for your new name,” “It was such a beautiful ceremony,” also confirmed that the mother of two had tied the nuptial nuts.

Davido’s father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, has reacted to the rumor making round that he is expecting a baby with an alleged young girlfriend. Recall that popular and controversial Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, had taken to her social media platform 2 days ago to break the news.  However, a new report has revealed that Dr. Adedeji is not expecting a baby from a 20-year-old girlfriend. According to PM News, a spokesman for the family made this revelation known.

Nigeria and Russia have signed an important MoU which will enable both countries’ oil giants, NNPC and Lukoil to elevate the commercial relationship to a government-to-government backed partnership. With the MoU, NNPC and Lukoil will work together in upstream operations and revamp Nigerian's refineries.

The Minister of Communication, Isa Ali Pantami on Sunday said the federal government has directed telecommunications giant, MTN to suspend its plan to place a N4 charge on its customers for USSD access to banking services. Many customers woke up over the weekend to receive shocking text from MTN informing them of the commencement of the new charge from October 21. The text read, “Yello, as requested by your bank, from Oct 21, we will start charging you directly for USSD access to banking services. Please contact your bank for more info." However, the minister on his Twitter handle handle said the government will investigate the new charge as it is not aware. He wrote, “Many thanks for drawing my attention to it. We have directed NCC to ask MTN to suspend the plan. We are not aware of it officially. We will investigate and make sure right thing is done. Best  wishes"!

Popular Nigerian singer, Davido has welcomed a bouncing baby boy with his ‘wife to be’, Chioma Avril Rowland. This is coming after the singer announced that he’s in the delivery room with Chioma, just 6 hours ago. Recall, the singer had last month confirmed that Chioma was pregnant. They have since named their child “David Adedeji Adeleke Jr.” Congratulations to the  couple!

Fresh reports and data have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo apparently earns more from Instagram than he does from playing soccer for Juventus. The 34-year-old earns an annual $47.8 million from sponsored Instagram posts, according to a study by social media firm Hopper HQ on Buzz Bingo. In contrast, his salary at Juventus is reportedly $34 million, according to Goal.com. Ronaldo’s reported income from Instagram makes him the platform’s highest earner, ahead of Lionel Messi and Kylie Jenner. Receiving a reported average of $975,000 per advertised post, Ronaldo’s Instagram earnings far eclipse the world’s biggest celebrities, including Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez, and Emily Ratajkowski. He also beats footballing rival Lionel Messi, who is said to have earned less than half of Ronaldo’s total with $23.3 million.
